Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Fit-ish by Fifty?+

A personal #TheStruggleIsReal blog and not expert fitness advice. It is an honest and occasionally painful account of workouts, food, travel, ageing knees, expressions I love and an appetite that does not respect deadlines. It is letters to my body on my journey to fitness.

Why 'fit-ish' and not just fit?+

Because fitness and I are not complete strangers. We know each other. We have history. But let's be honest here, some weeks are gym sessions and 71,000 steps, others are pastries and a suspicious four kilos added. Fit-ish is the truthful middle — progress with a sense of humour intact.

How often do new letters go up?+

Hopefully weekly.

Do I need to read them in order?+

Not at all. Every letter stands alone, and each one links to the week before and the week after if you'd like to keep going.

What will I get if I subscribe?+

An email notification when a new weekly letter or a monthly roll-up goes live. No spam, no selling, no 'ten hacks to shred your core'. You can always unsubscribe.

Can I leave a comment?+

Yes — at the bottom of every letter, with reactions too. Comments are read and approved by me before they appear publicly, mostly to keep the trolls and the supplement salesmen out. (nb: I'm pretty new to this so we will learn as we go)

Are you a coach, trainer or nutritionist?+

Absolutely not. Nothing here is medical or fitness advice. Just a girl trying to get fit and have fun while at it.

What happens when you actually turn fifty?+

We find out together. The plan is to keep writing — the deadline was always just an excuse to start.

Never miss a week

One email when a new weekly letter goes up, and one when the month gets its roll-up. No meal plans, no before-and-afters, no shouting.
